Kickstart your social media marketing with one of our workshops! Learn how to market your business or organization effectively with blogs, podcasts, video, Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, AudioBoo, Ning, Second Life and more.
Jon Reed has run social media workshops and in-house training for large organizations, including Pearson, Oxford University Press and the BIG Lottery Fund, for several years. He also lectures on social media on several university courses. He is currently writing a book called Get Up to Speed with Online Marketing: What you need to know and do to grow your business (FT Prentice Hall, 2010).
We currently run two types of workshop:
- Introduction to Social Media – a half-day seminar available for Publishers, Nonprofits and Small Businesses, either in-house or in London.
- Creating Social Media Campaigns – a practical one-day workshop enabling participants to come away with social media marketing plans, plus social media created for their campaigns during the day: blogs, video, audio, Facebook and Twitter accounts, even Ning social networks. This currently only runs as an in-house course, but will be available for individual delegates in London later in the year.
Packed with practical tips to get you up and running right away, these workshops will enable you to start developing your social media marketing strategy by providing a non-technical overview of concepts and approaches to using social media for marketing purposes, combined with a rigorous strategic approach to choosing and using tools, and planning and measuring campaigns.
What previous delegates say:
A really useful and informative course – I came away with lots of new ideas.
Shereen Muhyeddeen, Marketing Executive, Palgrave Macmillan
Very relevant, lots of extremely useful information – the speaker was obviously very well informed on the topic.
Alex O’Loughlin, Wiley Publishing
The workshop was an excellent introduction into the burgeoning world of social media.
Debbie Vaughan, Marketing Manager, Royal Society Publishing

Extensive handouts and materials include a comprehensive 7-page glossary of social media terms, a 10-page compendium of social media tools, plus marketing planning tools and further reading. The one-day practical workshop also includes plenty of step-by-step guides to help you create your social media straight away.
