Jon Reed

Hello.

I’m Jon Reed, a writer, lecturer, publisher and social media consultant.

I’ve worked in social media since its earliest days, and have helped thousands of people use it for marketing through my writing, teaching and consultancy. I previously worked in publishing for 10 years, including as publishing director for McGraw-Hill.

I work with authors as well as publishers, and run the blog Publishing Talk, which is aimed at new and aspiring authors. I’m running a conference on How to Get Published in London on 9th February 2019. I’m an author myself: I wrote Get Up to Speed with Online Marketing (2e, Pearson Business, 2013) – and I’m always trying to find more time for my own writing. That includes fiction these days. I’ve co-written a screenplay, am working on a novel, and am represented by Curtis Brown.

Through Reed Media I offer social media management, training and consultancy to publishers, authors, charities and businesses. Clients include Pearson Education, Penguin, HarperCollins, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Publishing Scotland, SAGE Publishing and the BIG Lottery Fund.

I’ve run a lot of workshops and in-house training in digital and social media marketing – currently including a one-day workshop on Pay-Per-Click Marketing for Publishers. I’ve guest lectured on publishing and digital media at several universities, and have run a series of Guardian Masterclasses on social media marketing for authors.

I now also offer social media management. I’ll work with you to develop a content strategy, then create social media content and manage your Instagram, Twitter, Facebook accounts etc. So if you’re struggling to maintain a social media presence, I can help.
